Project Details
Megalift design and manufacture bespoke mobile heavy handling solutions. Their SLT (Side Loading Trailer) is engineered to lift up to 35 tonnes, deploy containers in under two minutes, and operate as a one-man system.
The Megalift SLT incorporates hydraulic sliding cranes capable of lifting 20′, 30′, and 40′ containers, offering flexibility across a wide range of logistics and industrial environments.
The Problem
Operating the container lifter via manual trailer-mounted controls was:
- Time consuming for the operator
- Restrictive in terms of positioning and visibility
- Dependent on the operator being in close proximity to heavy moving loads
This created operational inefficiencies and increased safety concerns during loading and unloading.
The Challenge
FSL Electronics were tasked with designing and manufacturing a bespoke remote control system capable of supporting full wireless operation of all Megalift SLT functions while maintaining reliability in demanding environments.
The Solution
FSL’s R&D team developed a complete wireless control system that:
✔ Enabled full remote operation of all SLT functions
✔ Included a dedicated internal control panel
✔ Integrated a cabled manual override for backup use
✔ Supported operation in restricted environments such as air & sea ports or military zones
